Prayers | Thanksgiving?

Thanksgiving?

Thanks for praying and fasting with us this Wednesday, November 24.

THANKSGIVING? Not everyone is thankful this holiday season. For many, this is a very trying time in their lives.

Yet one of the most black and white commands in the Bible is to ‘give thanks in everything.’ There’s no room to fudge on this command. So let’s understand it clearly. It does NOT say to give thanks FOR everything, for even God is not thankful for the works of the devil or our own fleshly decisions. It says to give thanks IN everything.

This simply means that in every situation, good or bad, we can learn to thank God for either the blessings received OR the lessons learned. Either way we can adopt an attitude of gratitude. This ‘attitude’ protects us from ungratefulness during the good times, and from becoming bitter or cynical during the hard times.

Let’s pray.

Let’s pray for ourselves

Dear Lord,

By an act of our will, we choose to thank You for directing our steps and walking with us at all times, especially during the hard times of our life. Today, we remember Your faithfulness in the past, and trust that You will make “all things work together for good.”

Let’s pray for our city and country

Dear Lord,

Thank You for hearing our prayers of repentance for our country. We sense a small spiritual stirring amongst our people. Please do whatever it takes to make us want to humble ourselves completely before Your majesty. We desperately NEED Your touch upon our city and country.

Let’s pray for the global advance of the gospel

Dear Lord,

Thanks for the strong anointing on the recent Oasis World Ministries trip to India. Thanks for over 10,000 people who signed decision cards to receive Christ or recommit their lives to Your ownership. Thanks for the many significant healings. And thanks for the safe return of our team. Continue to be with all the pastors as their churches now do the necessary follow-up. We pray for ‘fruit that remains’ for Your glory alone. In Jesus’ might name we pray these prayers of thanksgiving, amen.
